About Al
Al comes to Hope Digital Missions with more than two decades of ministry behind him — nearly seventeen years serving local churches, and an online ministry of streaming, podcasts, video, and writing that has been running since 2010. In 2020 he sensed God calling him into digital ministry full-time, reaching the lost, the lonely, and the disenfranchised where they already gather, and in 2024 he was appointed the first digital missionary of his church and denomination in Canada.
Raised in a Christian home in the foothills of Alberta, Al has known Jesus since he was six. At Bible college he rededicated his life to Christ, met his wife Anita, and found his calling to ministry. He holds a Bachelor of Religion in Christian Ministries from North American Baptist College and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counselling from Taylor Seminary.
Al’s own ministry road has included seasons of real church hurt — an experience God has used to shape his empathy for wounded people and his conviction that those who care for others need genuine care themselves. He is the author of The Art of Digital Influence, a lifelong reader, gamer, and anime fan, and is known across streaming platforms as XtianNinja. He and Anita have four children.
