Live · the mission field is online

Someone is always out there.

Hopeful Disasters is the primary digital outreach branch of Hope Digital Missions. It brings the hope of Jesus into online spaces where people are already gathering, building relationships, and searching for connection.

Light in the Darkness

Why we go

The screens are full. The rooms are empty.

So much of life now happens online — gaming late into the night, scrolling in the dark, talking to strangers who feel closer than neighbors. For many people, the internet is where the loneliness lives. That is exactly why we go there.

Rather than waiting for people to walk through the doors of a church, Hopeful Disasters goes where they are.

Through live outreach, social platforms, gaming spaces, online communities, and relational conversations, Digital Missionaries and ministry leaders engage people, answer difficult questions through a Christian lens, offer prayer, share the Gospel, and invite people into deeper relationship.

Where we broadcast

Live outreach, where people already are.

Live outreach is intentional. We are not just posting videos and hoping — we are present in real time, building relationships through conversation, and inviting people back into a Gospel-centered community.

A worship stream on the Hopeful Disasters Twitch channel — in the chat, a viewer asks for prayer

One moment from the chat

“Could you pray for me please I’m going through more than I can explain on here”

That message arrived in the middle of a worship stream — a stranger, somewhere out there, typing into the chat of a live channel. This is why we broadcast. Not for views. For the one who finally asks.

Then we invite them to join

The Hopeful Disasters Online Community

Never used Discord?

Discord is a free chat app where communities gather in "servers" — spaces with text channels, voice rooms, and video hangouts.

The Hopeful Disasters Discord server is our Gospel-centered community. It is where friendships are built, where we earn the opportunity to speak into the struggles people are walking through, and where we bring biblical perspective while sharing the hope of Jesus.

I’m getting baptized this sunday! Thanks HD for kickstarting my spiritual journey ❤️ I came across HD this year, way before I came across any church. It was the 24/7 bible read, and the verse Mark 10:51 really called me for some reason. Ever since then, Kristin and Ryan has been really kind to me. Kristin encouraged me to find a church, despite me having trauma regarding its people before, she reminded me that church is not about the people but about Christ Himself. I’ve been going for about a few months now and found a lot of friends ❤️. Kind, Christian friends who keep strengthening me in the Lord.

This HD server has been a great stepping stone from me being a beginner in the faith to finding a church home, and ever since becoming active in church I haven’t been as active on here sadly, but even if I’m less active I just want to thank everyone for helping me grow. Love yall

A farewell post from the server

The goal was never to keep them.

Good day friends, over the past few years this group has been an immense blessing, helping me grow in my faith and lean not on my own strength, I now have a friend that I meet with in person who I am walking this out with, and I am going to be deleting discord as well as my account, in general I am reducing how much I am on social media, and this is part of that. I will always appreciate your prayers and how you have all been there for me, I love you guys more than you know. You have been true brothers to me. I trust that if we don’t meet in this lifetime, we will surely be reunited when we are in heaven in the joyous celebration that will never end in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen

Online community first.
Then face to face.

We build community online first — then invite people to join us in person at HopeCon, where they can experience the value of in-person fellowship and discover why being part of an in-person church community matters more than only being online.
